How We Compare Casinos
A guide to how we choose which operators to review, how our scoring works, and what the comparison process involves from start to finish.
Which operators we consider
We cover a selected set of UK-facing online casino operators. To be considered for review, an operator must hold a valid UK Gambling Commission licence and must be actively accepting UK players at the time of review. Operators that primarily target other markets, operate exclusively on a cryptocurrency basis, or lack a publicly accessible terms page are not included.
Our coverage is not exhaustive. There are many UK-licensed casino operators we do not review, either because we do not have a commercial relationship with them or because our current review cycle has not included them. An operator's absence from this site does not constitute a negative assessment.
The review process
Each operator is reviewed by examining the publicly accessible version of their platform. We navigate the site, review the terms, note the payment options, assess the mobile experience, and document the responsible gambling tools available. We do not rely on operator-provided materials as the primary source — the platform itself is what we assess.
We apply our eight-point framework to each operator. Each criterion is scored individually on a 0-10 scale, and the overall score is a weighted composite of those individual assessments. The weighting gives somewhat more emphasis to terms transparency, responsible gambling visibility, and payment practicality — areas that most directly affect players.
Our reviews represent a point-in-time assessment. Operator platforms, terms, and offers change regularly. We aim to review and refresh operator assessments periodically, but we do not guarantee that every detail is current at the moment you read it. Always verify current terms and offers directly on the operator's site.
How to read our scores
Our editorial scores sit on a 0-10 scale. Within our current reviewed set, scores range from approximately 7.5 to 8.5. This range reflects that all listed operators meet our baseline criteria — they are all licensed and UK-facing — but differ in areas such as terms clarity, payment options, and responsible gambling tool visibility.
A score of 8.0+ indicates strong performance across most criteria. A score below 7.5 typically reflects notable weaknesses in one or more areas — terms that are harder to read, fewer payment options, or less prominent responsible gambling tools. We do not currently list operators we would score below 7.0.

What comparison results do not mean
Our comparison results are informational, not prescriptive. A higher score is not a recommendation to register, deposit, or gamble with a particular operator. Players must make their own assessment based on their individual circumstances, risk tolerance, and personal preferences.
Scores do not predict player outcomes, win rates, withdrawal approval, or any other variable that depends on the operator's individual business decisions. The comparison is a tool to aid informed decision-making, not a substitute for reading the operator's own terms directly.
